Bleaching is a commonly accepted method used to lighten and even out the colour of Akoya cultured pearls.

Medium nacre and lustre. Medium-grade Akoya pearls representing top 33% of harvest.

Thick nacre with very high lustre. High-grade Akoya pearls representing top 10% of harvest.

Very thick nacre and ultra-high lustre. Highest grade Akoya pearls representing top 1-2% of harvest.

Emerald

The filling of surface-breaking fissures with a colourless oil, wax or other colourless substance except glass or plastic, to improve the gemstone's clarity is an age-old process adopted for virtually all emeralds.

Top 33% of emeralds in terms of quality.  Medium green and heavily included.  This quality is comparable to that used by leading independent/family jewellers.

Rich medium green, moderate inclusions can be seen with the naked eye (inclusions are typical for emeralds, no inclusions typically indicate that the emerald is not genuine); great value for a high quality emerald; well cut for high brilliance.
