What Is a Moonstone?
Simply put, this stone is a semi-precious jewel that belongs to the feldspar group. It is a blend of two feldspar varieties – orthoclase and albite. That being said, white moonstones are undoubtedly the most famous of the lot.

- Some cultures believed that the stone could be used to bring good luck to the wearer.
Is the Stone Worth the Buy?
Absolutely! Here’s why…
1) It Is 100% Natural
Believe it or not, the majority of moonstones found in the market today are devoid of artificial enhancements. Moreover, lab-created pieces have never entered the market. These factors, combined with the stone’s extreme abundance have made it one of the most affordable natural gemstones in the world.
2) It Features a Unique Glow
Unlike other stones, moonstone features a unique glow known as adularescence – an optical illusion that is often compared to the reflection of the moon on the still water of the ocean.
As such, if you’re looking for a jewel that’ll stand out in the crowd, the moonstone is definitely something you should consider investing in.
3) It Is a Birthstone
One of the three birthstones of June, the moonstone is loved and desired all over the globe. This title, along with the other USPs of the stone, has made it an irresistible purchase and an all-round great gift for June babies.
Coming to Its Durability…
With a 6-6.5 rating on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, the moonstone is not a very sturdy gem. Hence, we recommend flaunting it only at special events.
