An ear cuff is a type of earring that wraps around the lobe of the ear. It is available in a wide variety of styles. While some ear cuffs are bold, statement-making and cocktail-ready, others are delicate and dainty making them ideal for an everyday look.

The best thing about ear cuffs is that they don’t require piercings and anyone can wear them.

Earrings For Every Mood

Below are easy steps on how to put on ear cuffs, check them out.

Steps to Put on Ear Cuffs

1. Place the aperture of the cuff over the thinnest piece of cartilage in the upper part of your ear. The cuff’s flange should be on the side that is behind the ear. The other side ought to be in front.

It will be best to put the cuff on while observing your ear in a mirror until you become used to how a properly positioned cuff fits on your ear.

2. Hold the ear’s skin and cartilage firm with one hand. The cuff may glide into place more easily if you do this. Using the hand closest to the ear you’re working on the same side of your body is the simplest option.

Using your index and middle fingers, firmly pinch the top of the ear right above the cuff. Use your ring and thumb to place the earlobe in the right position. To make the outer ridge of your ear slightly stretched, taut and solid, gently pull on the top and bottom of your ear in opposite directions.

3. With the help of your other hand, gently slide the ear cuff along the cartilage’s outer rim. Slide the cuff down while rotating it so that it tilts slightly inward toward the inner ear. It will finally settle inside the hollow space at the outer end of the ear canal.

4. When working with ear cuffs that include a separate earring attached by a chain, you must first set the ear cuff section correctly before inserting the earring portion. This part can be skipped if the ear cuff has no chain-attached earrings.

Similar to how you would with a regular earring, insert the earring post through the piercing in your earlobe. From behind your earlobe, attach the backing to the post if it has one. In a mirror, check the ear cuff. If the chain is too tight, move the cuff to the side of your ear.

Ear Cuff Designs

Ear-Cuff-Designs

When it comes to ear cuffs, there are a variety of ear cuff designs to choose from.

The most basic ear cuffs are little hoops that wrap around the ridge of the ear without any additional elaboration. Light wire, heavier wire or solid metal are used to make these hoops.

Some hoop ear cuffs contain an additional earring piece that is connected by a thin chain or chained together. You should fasten this earring to your ear piercing.

Elaborate ear cuffs are truly conversation starters and some include jewels or other decorative accents. The ornamental portion of the cuff is intended to wrap the outside curve of the ear, while the actual cuff rests in the hollow of the ear.

Ear Climbers

Have you ever asked yourself – what are the earrings called that go up your ear? Those are actually ear climbers. If you are concerned that ear cuffs may fall off your ears, there are ear climbers to try. Ear climbers and ear cuffs are not the same, but give a well-decorated look to the ear. These statement earrings are included in the trendy earring category alongside ear cuffs; however, they differ slightly from each other. While climbers required at least one piercing to wear, ear cuffs do not require pierced ears.

Whether you opt for ear climbers or ear cuffs, they offer a unique and elegant approach to accessorizing your ears and creating the appearance of several piercings with a single piece of jewelry. They have a fun, modern appeal that is desired by many fashion girls.

How to Layer Ear Cuffs?

How-to-Layer-Ear-Cuffs

Layering ear cuffs with other earrings add a glamorous element. To make a statement, stack many ear cuffs together. If you can’t decide whether to wear your favorite ear cuffs or your staple studs, you might be able to wear both. For a casual appearance, pair cuffs with tiny studs or hoops.

Keep one or both elements relatively subdued. For example, you could pair simple diamond stud earrings with a decorative cuff, especially if the cuff has an open space in its design to accommodate an earring. Another choice would be to wear a plain wire hoop cuff with a pair of long dangling earrings. However, you shouldn’t pair heavy dangling earrings with an ornate ear cuff. The two pieces will likely clash and add too much weight to your ear.

Ear cuffs are an excellent option for everyone, whether you’re a jewelry enthusiast looking to spice up your collection or a newbie looking for earrings before committing to a piercing.
