I think the emerald cut gave it very good sparkle since there is more surface area to be hit by light and it matches well wth the yellow gold metal surround. Dainty and at the same time elegant - with the old school emerald cut. The pair looked well made and an altogether good value. She didn't like the screw on post. Admittedly more secure but takes time to put on.
